St Kevin’s Community College will remain closed as per Government and HSE instructions until May 5th, 2020. We will keep you updated if this changes. Keep checking in with our social media posts for up-to-date information (follow us on Twitter and Facebook).

This is a difficult time for all of you and we hope you and your families are all keeping well in these challenging times. We are thinking of anyone who is ill at this time. To those of you who are part of the front-line medical services or who are part of those services deemed to be essential in these times, we offer our most sincere thanks. Please continue to play your part in the fight against the spread of Covid-19; the current evidence suggests that we are winning in our battle to do this and we thank you for all of your efforts. Please continue to follow all of the HSE advice (click here for more info)

The Leaving Cert has been postponed and the Junior Cycle exams have been cancelled. All of the necessary details on this can be found here. It will take some time for the Department of Education to give further details on these arrangements so for now we ask that you continue to be patient and calm.

Unfortunately we do not have answers to the many questions you probably have at the moment and it will take some time for the school to work through plans and decisions for the future. We will keep you informed when we know more details.

For now our advice for each year group is as follows:

1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th years – continue with your schoolwork from Monday April 20th. Please email your teachers at least twice per week with some work so they know you are staying on top of things.

3rd years – Your Junior Cert exams may have been cancelled but you will have to do them in class in September. Your State Certificate is an important qualification so please keep up with your work as often as you can.

6th years – please continue to engage with your teachers. Use this extra time that you’ve been given as best you can – use it wisely to catch up on material that you’d struggled with before. Do a few hours each day and make sure you take breaks too and you look after your physical and mental health. It is important to get up early, have a shower and get dressed. This will make the real exams easier to manage when they start. Try to get some fresh air while following HSE guidelines.

Most importantly, be kind to yourself and others and stay safe. We are here to help – stay in touch.

We miss you.
