Congratulations to the girls U17s soccer team who won their quarter final match 2-1 against St Killian’s.

The girls came up against a very strong St Killian’s team and the game could have gone either way. In what was a truly great game Aoife Farrell managed to get 2 goals. She calmly slotted home from the penalty spot after she was fouled in the box. This put St Kevin’s in the lead before St Killian’s drew level from a set piece goal. Aoife then scored a fantastic individual goal taking the ball around 3 players before smashing the ball into the net for what turned out to be the winning goal.
A special mention to the defenders Abbie Clare Duffy, Leah McEvoy, Kerry Byrne, Mia Connolly and goalkeeper Faith O Callaghan – they defended heroically throughout the game. The girls now have a semi final to look forward to in the coming weeks.

Well done girls & well done to Coach Smith on another great victory. It was a superb team performance and we are all extremely proud of you all.

Congratulations.
